If you love looking classy af but don’t want to spend all of your hard earned money on makeup, there are several drugstore makeup dupes to consider.
Drugstore makeup dupes are essentially “duplicates” of high end luxury items. If you’re looking to build up your makeup arsenal, you can have a few great high-end staples, like a really great foundation or primer, and then work in dupes to stretch your budget. Of course, you’re probably going to use that saved money to buy more makeup, because, duh.
What you might not know is that a lot of these drugstore brands have more famous and powerful parents. By that, I mean that the drugstore brands are often owned by luxury brands, and the products are produced at the same factory. That’s why sometimes you’ll see packaging that’s really similar to high-end brands. So while the packaging and name might be different, inside the tube it could be the same formulation.
So let’s check out some drugstore makeup dupes that could pass as luxury brands. We’ll explore the best eyeshadow palette dupes, best drugstore lipgloss, foundation dupes, and more!

La Mer is literally the crème de la crème of all crèmes. It’s known to repair and beautify skin with their proprietary blend of nourishing ingredients. If you’re looking for something similar without the hefty price tag, try the Mario Badescu Seaweed Night Cream as a dupe. Reviewers rave about how it absorbs quickly, improves tone, and brightens skin.
I’ve been a huge fan of face oils for years. I started using Argan Oil about 8 years ago and credit that to my skin staying young. My dermatologist told me she thought I was in college during my first appointment (brush shoulders off). I use it as my moisturizer after cleansing, toning, and a serum. You can try the Josie Maran version, but a more affordable option is Physician’s Formula, made in Morocco.
Maybelline Master Prime Makeup Primer is one of the great drugstore makeup dupes out there. It can stand in with gusto for the Smashbox Photo Finish Primer.
I am basically obsessed with anything L’Oréal. I think they make amazing products that can stand against luxury brands with ease. You might be able to tell that this Yves Saint Laurent concealer pen is in the L’Oréal brand family by comparing the packaging to L’Oréal Studio Secrets Lumi Highlighter pen. Both cover imperfections and wake up the look of your skin.
L’Oréal True Match Lumi Makeup foundation is one of the most well-known drugstore full coverage foundation makeup dupes out there. It’s produced by the same parent company as the more luxe Giorgio Armani Beauty Power Fabric Foundation. It’s one of the best dewy foundations out there with buildable coverage. Both come in a range of colors and have SPF, but only one comes with a budget-friendly price tag!
Everyone loves the look of the NARS Orgasm blush, but not everyone loves shelling out almost $40 for that glow. That’s where Milani comes in. You can replicate that same glow with their Luminoso drugstore blush!
To set your face, try the NYX Mineral Matte Finishing Powder instead of the Too Faced Ethereal Setting Powder on top of your dewy foundation. Both will leave your face matte to face the day without a greasy glow.
Urban Decay’s Naked Palette has been the go-to neutral eye kit for years. Now, you can duplicate the same range of luxe colors with Colourpop’s Double Entendre eyeshadow palette dupes. The perfectly neutral palette can blend up a variety of looks from daytime classic to smoky-chic.
Another excellent drugstore dupe you can try is the NYX Epic Ink liner in black or brown. It’s a perfect stand-in for Kat Von D’s well-loved tattoo liner!
Another L’Oréal product tops the list with their Voluminous Lash Paradise Mascara. It can take the place of Too Faced’s Better Than Sex Mascara with ease.
Charlotte Tilbury’s Lip Cheat Lip Liner in Pillowtalk is quickly becoming one of the industry’s best makeup dupes as a nude lip liner. Luckily for us, NYX creates a great makeup dupe, the Slim Lip Pencil in Peek-A-Boo Natural.
One of my favorite lip products is the Smashbox line of Matte Liquid Lipsticks. Colourpop offers an affordable alternative with their matte liquid lipstick in nearly a dozen shades from subtle to bright and bold. It goes on like a lip gloss and dries down to a buildable matte lip color.

November 26, 2018I agree! I also have a few of their eye pencils and eye sticks that I use as highlighter (white and a champagne color).
