I recently stayed at the Tempo by Hilton Louisville Downtown NuLu in Louisville KY. The brand new hotel is part of the Hilton portfolio. While it just opened, the hotel has tons of potential for being a bustling place to stay during a visit to the city. Let’s get started with a review of the Tempo by Hilton Louisville Downtown NuLu!
Located on E Jefferson Street in Louisville, you can tell the area is undergoing significant revitalization. Many buildings on the street are under construction. The Tempo by Hilton Louisville Downtown NuLu is brand new itself, having just opened earlier in 2024.
The hotel is just one block away from lively East Market Street (hello fantastic restaurants!). You can walk to downtown in about 30 minutes, or an Uber into downtown costs about $10. We were able to walk all over, from food tours to a baseball game easily.
The sidewalks are well lit, so even walking at night felt pretty safe (coming from a city like Boston).
The airport is very close, and it took about 15 minutes and $20 in a ride share.
For our room, we booked one with two queen beds. It was surprisingly spacious, with the two beds, small table and chairs, sitting area, vanity, and bathroom.
The bathroom was well lit, spacious, and bright, with a dual shower head. Soap, shampoo, and conditioner in reusable containers were attached to the wall.
The beds and bedding were so comfortable at the Tempo by Hilton Louisville Downtown NuLu! The bed had a plush topper on it as well as a down comforter. The pillows were so comfortable, I am going to buy a few for myself! You can actually buy their linens and even a mattress here (not an affiliate link, just cool to know!).
The amenities at the Tempo by Hilton Louisville Downtown NuLu were among the best I’ve experienced in the USA chain of Hiltons.
Something I’ve never seen at a hotel before are water refill stations everywhere. There was one in the lobby with still, sparkling, and alkaline water. There was also a filtration station on each floor as well as the gym. I really appreciated that as a hydration lover.
The lobby was very spacious with a number of different meeting areas and cozy places to sit. There were a lot of outlets if you need to charge a laptop or phone. The lobby also had a market area, with grab and go food, drinks, and things like aspirin. It looks like you grab what you want, check out on the little self-pay machine, and go on with your day.
Moonsong Cafe on the lobby level was also a great place for a morning coffee, food, or beer later in the day. They brew Bluestone Coffee, and every latte we had was strong and delicious.
The gym was awesome! They had two Pelotons, a number of treadmills and bikes, a rower, two free-weight areas, a squat rack, and a multi-exercise cable machine. Another water station was in the gym, along with fresh workout towels.
There is a new rooftop restaurant and bar with great views of the city. However, we did not dine here, so I can’t comment on it.
Parking is not included, and is $22 a day. Yikes. We were luckily able to park right in front of the hotel for all three nights we stayed for free.
Overall, the Tempo by Hilton Louisville Downtown NuLu was a great choice for our long weekend trip to Louisville! The staff was so nice, everything is clean and new, and the food/drinks were all great. I would highly recommend staying here if you are visiting the area!
