A brand I don’t use that often, and probably should, is a beauty mainstay: Maybelline. They just released a line of lipsticks that are supposed to be universally flattering on any skin tone. In this Maybelline Color Sensational Made For All Lipstick review, I’ll cover how it looks on my fair, yet olive skin; how it wears; and the pigmentation.
An American company that’s a subsidiary of L’Oreal, Maybelline can be found in stores all across the country.
They just released a line of Color Sensational Made For All Lipstick in seven colors that they tested on 50 different skin tones. The shades are:
Mauve for Me
Spice for Me
Red for Me
Ruby for Me
Fuchsia for Me
Plum for Me
Pink for Me
Priced at $7.49, it’s an affordable line of lip colors that could potentially be your go-to colors without a lot of testing many lipsticks!
I tried out the Maybelline Color Sensational Made For All Lipstick in the color Red for Me.

I did not receive this lipstick for free. I bought it myself and am sharing my honest thoughts about it in case you are also thinking of picking up this lip color or brand. So let’s dive in to some of my thoughts about this lipstick.

Maybelline Color Sensational Made For All Lipstick in the color Red for Me is a really creamy formulation that glides on easily and smoothly.
When you review the ingredients, you can see that the main ingredients include Lanolin Oil, Castor Oil, Sesame Seed Oil, and Beeswax. Lower in the ingredient list there appears Shea Butter and honey. All that seems great to me for how smooth it allows the lipstick to go on and how hydrating it will be.
The lipstick comes with a “traditional” pointed tip, which allows you to apply the color very carefully on your lips.
I would probably recommend pairing the color Red for All with a matching lip liner to make sure it doesn’t bleed or smudge outside the lines since it is so bold.
So rich! Maybelline Color Sensational Made For All Lipstick in the color Red for Me goes on super pigmented from the first swipe across your lips.
I put two layers of the lipstick on, and the color layers really nicely.
It is marketed as a matte color, but it goes on pretty glossy, in my opinion, and felt more like a lipstick-balm, due to all of the rich oils. But I let it dry down for a few minutes and also gently blotted my lips, which helped a lot to remove the glossy sheen.
Mmmmmmmm, kind of?
I think because the Maybelline Color Sensational Made For All Lipstick in the color Red for Me formula is so oil based, it is not long lasting as some other matte formulas.
Maybe if you are just drinking some beverages or sitting at a desk it would last a few hours. But if you’re planning on eating a meal, it would probably be all gone by the end of lunch.
However, after I blotted it down, it did seem to “set” better, and it did not smudge off when I kissed my husband.
I know some people don’t mind reapplying lipstick, but I personally prefer longer lasting formulations. But, I do love how moisturizing it is, so I guess it’s a trade off!
No, it is not! In fact, I think it feels more like a lip balm on my lips. It is very creamy and hydrating.
Even after the color wore off my lips still felt moist.
Maybelline Color Sensational Made For All Lipstick in the color Red for Me comes in a traditional lipstick container. By that I mean, a long, rectangular tube.
You twist up the lipstick to access the color, so it’s a very traditional lipstick in that sense. The container is bright red, reflecting the pigment of the product inside. It’s a very smooth case and feels sturdy in my hand.
I love the theory that the Maybelline Color Sensational Made For All Lipstick in the color Red for Me is supposed to be universally flattering on any skin tone.
I love how creamy and hydrating it is, and I wish it lasted just a bit longer.
I might still pick up some of the other colors like Plum for Me or Ruby for Me to see if they are also flattering on me.
Overall, I am impressed with the color payoff and feel of this lipstick!
